The Varied Size And Shapes Associated With Bead Work Assignments

Beadwork, literally, can be anything made with beads. What first comes to mind is jewelry, and probably second is decorations on apparel. Wedding gowns are famous for having beadwork on them. While jewelery is probably one of the first places we see beading used, it is not where the story ends.

To begin with, don't assume that beading needs to be a round bead. Anything with an opening in it, could be strung. Probably the first man to do this was using a rock or shell with a hole inside. Possibly the bone of a dead animal, so that other folks know about his prowess in the hunt. It wouldn't take long for that to become a contest; who has the most kills. Therefore stringing numerous on a line at the same time.

With different culture, the definition may have been completely different, but the early process was the same. And this basic beadwork is prevalent in every culture all over the world. Eventually, the means transformed and the patterns became complex.

In today's modern society there is little that couldn't be made with beads, though, some things would ask the question, "Why do you?" Whole purses can be found made from beads, footwear also (though I don't imagine that is comfortable). You could, if you so wanted, make a whole shirt from beads. This would be a long project and need the utmost persistence. Something smaller could be a cigarette case.

If you are able to dream it, you are able to bead it.
